CONSULTATIONS
Consultations are about the client and the environment in which they feel most comfortable. Private practice reduces waiting times, allows more flexibility in relation to appointments (including evenings and weekends), and most importantly, offers the opportunity for clients to choose between brief, focussed therapy or longer term exploratory work. The environmental settings of any consultation are determined by the client and are open to change from session to session depending on the clients needs.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Therapy is confidential. Sometimes you may wish to let someone else know that you are having therapy, but that is up to you.

REFERRALS

Clients come through self-referral or through referrals by a variety of organisations such as employers, GP's, private clinics, schools, etc.

TYPES OF CONSULTATIONS

Face-to-face consultations predominantly take place at my premises in Caldicot and Chepstow, in the area of Gwent, Private practice can also take place in Lydney Gloucestershire. However, home consultations can be arranged for clients as can consultations for children and young people at schools where appropriate.

DURATION OF CONSULTATIONS

Consultations last approximately 50 minutes.

A few brief essential ground rules.

1- Payment.
Either in cash or a cheque is acceptable, but must be paid at the time of the session. An invoice may be given if required for insurance claims.

2 - Cancellations / Re-booking.
All cancellations require 24 hours notice by telephone. Failure to do so will cost you the full fee. Please respect this so as not to cause embarrassment to yourself.

3 - Time boundaries.
Please try to respect the time neither arriving too early or too late. As we can not promise to make up the time if you do arrive late, even if given a legitimate reason as I am unable to take the time from another client who may follow you. This would not be fair to them.

4 - Contact telephone numbers.
We will need to have a contact phone number for emergencies, so please come expecting to provide this information to me.

5 - Endings.
Please give respect to the idea of discussing 'endings' with your Therapist. Leaving without any acknowledgment will not serve you well in future counselling relationships. If you are unhappy with the service we are offering you, to share this with us.
